About the Business
Since 1999, CDL has evolved into one of the UK's leading IT disposal companies with many of the UK's leading companies amongst our client portfolio. We can confidently claim to have developed one of the most comprehensive, yet cost effective asset retirement solutions in the industry today, borne out by our client retention rate of 96.4%.
In line with our forward thinking approach, our retirement process already exceeds legislation introduced in the WEEE Directive in January 2007 and our data erasing process meets the highest recognized standards in the UK.
We cover the whole of the mainland UK using our own vehicles and drivers. We collect all manner of IT related equipment with no minimum quantities.
Our aim is simply to take away the hassles associated with IT disposal and provide our customers with a complete peace of mind solution for the management and retirement of redundant IT equipment.
Business Services
Onsite Hard Drive Destruction
For highly sensitive data, CDL offer an onsite hard drive destruction service, where the customer can witness their drives being destroyed on their premises.
Our portable hard drive destruction unit is the only ADISA and DIPCOG approved device of its type in the UK. The crusher can destroy over 100 hard drives per hour and guarantees total hard drive destruction. It runs on standard electricity and can be used in an office environment with little or no disruption to surrounding staff.
Our engineers will record the serial numbers onsite for all hard drives prior to destruction, thus the customer will receive a detailed inventory of the destroyed hard drives.
Secure Data Destruction
One of the greatest concerns faced by our customers when disposing of their redundant IT equipment is the removal and destruction of personal and/or sensitive data contained within them.
As identity fraud attacks become more widespread and more sophisticated, it is imperative that businesses and organisations ensure that secure data destruction processes are in place prior to the disposal and recycling of computers, laptops and other obsolete IT equipment.
Failure to do so has obvious ramifications, not only to the public sector, but also to the company itself. There are several high profile organisations who have been prosecuted and heavily fined under the recently updated 1998 Data Protection Act for failing to ensure that secure data destruction had taken place prior to disposing of computer hard drives and other data-bearing equipment.
CDL provide secure data destruction services, either in-house, or onsite at your premises if you wish to witness the process. All processes are fully compliant with the WEEE Directive and full documentation is provided.
